Dave’s Cup Hockey Tournament
February 16-18, 2007
Cost $250 per team with a 20 team maximum.
Application deadline January 25, 2007
3 game Round Robin Play
10 teams make the Playoffs
Winning team plays for Free!!
Games will be played with "Nice Pucks" www.nicerink.com
Rules of the Game:
1. Team shirts required.
2. All participants 21 or older.
3. Four on Four with the ability to have one substitution.
4. 3 periods of 8 minute running time for round robin play. Playoffs last
period stop time.
5. Referee’s will be the next two teams playing which is mandatory!!!
6. All penalty’s will be assessed a penalty shot. Game time will stop
for penalty shot.
7. The team that shoots the puck out of play or intentionally tips puck
out of play will then forfeit the puck possession.
8. Red Line is off sides and tag up is allowed.
9. No full time goaltender and all players must rotate through the goalie
position every game. If not a forfeit will be declared.
10. All other rules are traditional hockey rules.
11. Coin flip for night games for defensive end.
12. No slap shots only wrist shots.
13. This is a gentlemens game AND NO-CHECK.
Special Team Rules:
1. To make the game as fair as possible here are some extra competitive
rules.
2. Only 1 ex-Professional or Division 1 player per team.
3. Each team needs a 40 or older player.
4. Coed teams are welcome.
5. Losing team shovels the ice between games.
Recommended Equipment:
1. Gloves
2. Shin Pads
3. Elbow Pads
4. Cup
5. Winter Hat, long johns, hand warmers
Arena:
1. 90’ x 45’ rink with 4’ end boards and 2’ side
boards. 8’ Chain link fencing behind goals.
2. Night Lights.
3. Bench area for 4 people on each side.
4. Hockey Hut with heat for changing, Cable TV and Radio amenities.
5. Snack Bar with Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Burgers and Hot Dogs and Buffalo
Wings.
6. Location of arena is at 77 Stoneybrook Dr., Auburn, NH

Sponsorship for Dave’s Cup
Proceeds are to benefit the Samantha C. Smith Foundation which was organized
after the passing of Samantha on July 3, 2004. The purpose is to maintain
Academic and Hockey Scholarships in Samantha's name. You can learn more
about Samantha and her life and the past 2005 and 2006 recipients of her
scholarships at www.scsfund.org .
This is a unique tournament with a unique set of rules. Many of the participants
will be professional business people with familys, friends and homes in
the Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire areas. If you are looking to
target athletic people who are home owners then this can be a great opportunity
for your business to advertise at Dave’s Cup. Knowing full well this
is going to a great cause and one that will make your business shine in
